Title
The Foster Care System - Addressing Abuse and Risk Factors, Current Policies, and Recommendations

Abstract
Currently, the foster care system is used worldwide, yet still many people are unaware of what foster care is, and how to properly care for foster children. Foster children often face abuse in their temporary homes, and this can be brought down to a few main risk factors. Current policies to address have worked effectively in reducing the number of children in foster care, however there are many flaws and limitations yet to be addressed. This paper researches the current policies related to foster care. After highlighting the perspective of the stakeholders on these policies and the discourse toward countering the impacts on current foster children, this paper further suggests certain policy recommendations to ensure the safety and quality care of foster children thereby, hopefully raising awareness and convincing more parents to join the foster care system.
